Why it matters
Anthropic introduced MCP in November 2024, and it has since been adopted across the major AI assistants and developer tools. It makes giving an agent a new ability easy: add an MCP server, and the agent can read from or act on that system.
That ease is also the risk. Every MCP server is a new path between an AI agent and company systems, often installed by a developer on their own machine with their own credentials, and invisible to proxies and identity providers. Governing agents increasingly means governing the MCP servers they use.
How Qastel handles it
The Qastel MCP gateway sits between an agent and each MCP server it uses. It checks each server before it connects, checks every tool call on the way out and on the way back against your policies, and records every decision.
