AI control layer

An AI control layer is the part of AI governance that sits where AI is used and applies the rules: it sees every AI system in use and enforces the organisation's policies on each prompt and each agent action.

Why it matters

Most organisations already have somewhere to write their AI policy: a charter, a governance platform, sometimes a control tower that lists AI systems and their risks. What they lack is the part that acts. The policy lives in a document, and nothing checks it at the moment someone pastes customer data into a chatbot.

A control layer closes that gap. Because it sits in the path of AI use, in the browser, on the desktop and in developers' agents, it applies the same rules to the AI the organisation approved and to the shadow AI nobody approved, and it keeps a record of every decision.

How Qastel handles it

Qastel is an AI control layer. It discovers AI systems from the identity, network and agent-platform tools you already run, scores the risk of each one, enforces your policies in the browser, on the desktop and at the MCP gateway, and keeps the evidence of every decision. It works on its own, or under a governance platform or control tower you already have.
