Gemini for Workspace and Qastel
See who uses Gemini across your Google Workspace, how often, and in which app.
Why built-in AI is invisible by default
Gemini arrives inside tools everyone already has open: Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Meet. That makes it the easiest AI to adopt and the hardest to see. Qastel reads Gemini's audit log in your Workspace and shows who uses it, on which days, and in which app.
Nobody installs Gemini. It is a button in the side panel of a document someone was already editing. There is no sign-in to detect and no new destination on the network: just AI, used every day, inside your own Google organisation.
What Google records, and what Qastel counts
Google keeps an audit log of what people ask Gemini to do. Qastel counts each person's actions per day and per app (Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive, Meet, Chat or the Gemini app) and ignores the suggestions Gemini offers unprompted, so the numbers reflect use rather than panels opening.

What you get
Discover, assess, control, comply.
What Gemini for Workspace gives Qastel, at each of the four stages.
Discover
Gemini usage across every Workspace app, read from the audit log Google already keeps.
Assess
Daily active users and a by-app breakdown, so you know where Gemini is actually doing work.
Control
Usage attributed to named people, so licences and training go where Gemini is really used.
Comply
A record of AI use on your organisation's own plan, without a single prompt or response leaving Google.
One system, whichever account
Gemini usage lands on the same AI system as the Gemini activity the browser extension sees, which also catches Gemini used with personal Google accounts. Google does not log prompts or responses, so Qastel never sees them.
What Qastel reads
From Gemini for Workspace
- The Gemini actions people started
- The Workspace app each one came from
- Daily active users, day by day
Read-only. Nothing is written back.
Connect Gemini for Workspace
Uses the same delegation entry as the Google Workspace connector, with read-only access to Gemini's audit log: if Workspace is already connected, there is nothing to paste. Qastel never sees prompts or responses.
What you need before you start
- A Google Workspace organisation with Gemini
- A super admin: Google shows Gemini's audit log to super admins only
In Qastel, open Sources and choose Gemini for Workspace.
Reuse the Google Workspace connection if you have one. Otherwise add the delegation entry Qastel shows in the Google Admin console, then enter a super admin's email and connect.
See what Gemini for Workspace already knows about your AI.
Read-only, in minutes. Nothing is ever written back.
